To continue the expansion of card-linking’s accessibility, the CardLinx board of directors authorized a work group to develop standards, common APIs and promote industry collaboration to facilitate card-linking on PIN debit networks in the United States. This work group includes most of the largest PIN debit networks, leading merchants, and processors: STAR, PULSE, NYCE, CO-OP Financial, Empyr, Sears Shop Your Way and Ebates.
According to CardLinx research, card-linked transactions are growing at over 50% per year. However, PIN debit networks are not fully participating in this growth due to lack of technical support for card-linking. This lack of PIN debit interoperability exists despite the fact that there is strong demand for card-linking on PIN debit cards among both consumers and merchants.
